STEAM Student Leadership Team application
Who is it for?
- Students who have been nominated by STEAM teachers and staff for demonstrating the skills and mindset that define the STEAM program:
- Creativity
- Drive to learn and grow
- Critical problem solving
- Ability to connect with others
- Students are also welcome to apply without a nomination.
What do they do?
- Serve as Makerspace Mentors during advisement, before and after school, and during special events.
- Participate in community outreach events during and outside of school hours.
- Attend planning and training meetings.
- Compete in STEAM-related events and shows.
What are the benefits of involvement for the student?
- Develop skills for success in college and career.
- Make connections for the future.
- Participate in resume-building activities.
- Get in-depth training and experience in the Makerspace.
- More access to career exploration opportunities.
- Opportunity to share Maker experience and develop leadership skills.

When do they meet?
- After school meetings twice per month
- During advisement on travel days
- As needed for outreach and competitions
